Senate Resolution No. 5

Congratulating the West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians on
the tenth anniversary of the "Doc for a Day" program at the
West Virginia Legislature.
Whereas, The West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians is
celebrating the tenth anniversary of its annual "Doc for a Day"
program at the West Virginia Legislature; and
Whereas, The "Doc for a Day" program is provided by volunteer
family physicians from around the state during each day of the
legislative session. Their service is provided to legislators,
staff, governmental officials and the general public; and
Whereas, More than twelve thousand patients have received free
high quality medical care from the "Doc for a Day" program; and
Whereas, The "Doc for a Day" program has served as a model
medical care program for many other state legislatures across the
nation; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby extends its sincere appreciation to the
West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians for its outstanding
service in providing the "Doc for a Day" program to the West
Virginia Legislature, its employees and the many citizens who visit
the capitol building during the course of the legislative session;
and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the West Virginia Academy of Family
Physicians.
